Our Impact
Across Uganda and Belize, Hail Mary Foundation partners with local ministries and grassroots organizations to meet communities' most urgent needs: clean water, education, and faith-centered support. From wells that have already transformed daily life in Bukimbi, Ntayigirwa, and Sikada, to growing school campuses in Mayuge and Budaka, to a music school bringing literacy and joy to children in rural Belize, every project below represents a community our partners are walking alongside, one investment at a time.
Bukimbi Community Water Well — Uganda
Location: Bukimbi, Namayingo District, on the shores of Lake Victoria, Uganda
Partner organizations: Christian Fellowship Ministries Uganda and Freedom Through Faith Ministries
Despite sitting on the shores of Lake Victoria, Bukimbi's 9,164 residents had no access to clean water, relying instead on the contaminated lake, shallow wells, and ponds over 5 kilometers away. The trip to the lake was deadly: crocodile attacks during water collection had claimed lives, and water-borne disease, missed school days, and household stress followed close behind.
In late 2024, Hail Mary Foundation leaders funded the drilling and completion of a new well in Bukimbi, the second well sponsored in the region, with a total investment of $7,310.
The result: over 1,000 adults and 780 pupils at Good Hope Nursery and Primary School now have daily access to clean water, with more than 100 households no longer making the dangerous trek to the lake. School attendance has improved, especially among girls, and families report far less household conflict now that water is close, safe, and reliable.
Ntayigirwa Community Water Well — Uganda
Location: Ntayigirwa, in the heart of Busoga, Eastern Region, Uganda
Partner organization: Christian Fellowship Ministries Uganda
Ntayigirwa is a densely populated community of roughly 5,000 residents with no clean water source. Families relied on creeks and ponds, often shared with animals, exposing them to cholera, typhoid, and dysentery. Women and children carried 20-liter jerry cans on their heads for 3–4 kilometers, sometimes making the trip several times a day, while poor roads turned to sticky mud in the rains and cut the community off further. The local church, planted in 2017, still has no permanent building of its own, yet the community trusted it enough to donate the land for a new well.
Hail Mary Foundation leaders funded the drilling of that well, giving Ntayigirwa its first reliable source of clean water. A nine-person Water User Committee, made up of government representatives, the pastor, and five community members, now monitors and maintains the site. The well is expected to cut water-borne disease, free up hours once lost to long water-collection queues, keep children in school and focused on their studies, and open the door to agriculture, livestock, and small business that a dependable water source makes possible.
Sikada Community Water Well — Uganda
Location: Sikada, Busia District, Eastern Region, Uganda, near the Kenyan border
Partner organizations: Christian Fellowship Ministries Uganda (Pastors Living and Peninah Ojambo) and Freedom Through Faith Ministries
Sikada is known for its warmth and hospitality, but residents face a daily 2–3 hour trek to reach water, sharing scarce creeks and shallow wells with livestock. That human-animal overlap exposes families to water-borne disease and limits water available for agriculture and animals alike. The local church, planted in 2009 in a community once known for drunkenness and sorcery, has grown to influence much of the population, and a water well has been the congregation's prayer request for years.
In late 2025, Hail Mary Foundation leaders committed $6,500 to drill and complete Sikada's well, the fourth well funded in this partnership, split into staged payments as drilling progressed. As with Ntayigirwa, a nine-person Water User Committee has been formed to oversee and maintain the site going forward, giving Sikada a real path away from multi-hour water treks and toward safer, more reliable daily life.
Mayuge District Campus — Uganda
Location: Uganda (East Africa)
Partner organization: Musana Community Development Organization
In Mayuge, Hail Mary Foundation leaders' support is funding the first step of a new school campus: a well, now being drilled, that will anchor the entire site. Once complete, the campus will include 5–6 water tanks with a combined capacity of 65,000 liters, powered by solar-backed electricity Musana is bringing into the community, enough to serve over 1,000 students and 200 staff. Musana has also become the district's largest private employer, training local workers to be job creators rather than job seekers, with a campus pastor providing daily devotionals and Sunday services for the whole community.
Budaka District Campus — Uganda
Location: Uganda (East Africa)
Partner organization: Musana Community Development Organization
Alongside Mayuge, a matching campus is taking shape in Budaka, following the same model: a well drilled as proof of progress, unlocking funding for 5–6 tanks (65,000 liters total) and a solar-backed water system that will reach every corner of the site. Like its sister campus, Budaka will serve over 1,000 students and 200 staff, with a dedicated pastor discipling the community daily. Together, the Mayuge and Budaka wells represent the first $20,000 in progress toward two campuses built to bring dignity, clean water, and opportunity to East Africa.
Cayo School of Music & Arts — Belize
Location: Rural Cayo District, Belize, a remote farming community
Hail Mary Foundation leaders helped establish the Cayo School of Music & Arts, bringing music instruction to children in an off-the-beaten-path Mennonite farming community, built on the simple idea that music helps kids learn to read.
The school now runs out of its own facility, with a barn/hall space that regularly fills with multiple generations of families for lessons and performances. Turnout has been strong from the start, and the program has become a valued, visible fixture in a community with few other creative outlets for children.
